The Morning Devotional: Psalm 92

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we give you thanks for providing us one day in seven when we gather with other brothers and sisters to praise your Name. We thank you for compelling us to do so because of the teachings stated in your Word and the works your hands have done in rescuing us from the misery of sin and placing us on the solid Rock which is Jesus Christ. We thank you for the privilege of praising you. You made our mouths so that we can use them to praise you. You gave us minds that can think and meditate on the glorious things you have done. You are worthy, our God, of lives that show your greatness and words that express our gratitude. Yet, Father, we know that we are sometimes forgetful of the marvelous things you have done for us. We confess that our lips often complain instead of praise. We confess that we fail to understand your might and power and the many ways you have protected us as the true King of heaven and earth. Forgive us, Father. Please give us thankful hearts and voices. Please teach us contentment. Please show us your power and might as you preserve us from those who hate you. Please establish us and cause us to bear fruit in our lives as we seek to honor you. Please help us and be merciful to us. We pray and ask these things through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
