The Daily Prayer for the Lord's Day: May 17, 2026

Prayer: Our God in heaven, how thankful we are for your wise and kind provision of the Lord's Day. On this day, we have the privilege and experience the joy of being called into your presence to honor you, the one true God of heaven and earth. Indeed, we who are the redeemed of the Lord desire to come with songs of joy and shouts of praise to worship you because you have rescued us from the land of slavery and bondage and feed us to serve you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. It is right for us to feel that way and focus our minds and hearts on you because you love us with an infinite and unchanging love. You placed your favor on us, calling us the apple of your eye and your treasured possession. Therefore, it is only reasonable that we, as you people, worship you and you alone. Forgive us, Father, for the many times we fail to use this day for our good. Forgive us for those times when we trample it underfoot. Forgive us for our wandering minds and weak hearts. Help us, we pray, to adore you, see your beauty and majesty, and sing praise to you with all of our being. Please bless your Word to us and strengthen those you have called to minister Christ to our souls. Feed us with the bread of life and bring forth fruit from it, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
