The Morning Devotional: Psalm 56

Prayer: Our God, you are the one we trust when we face trials brought on by those who oppose your Word and your people. We know that your Son told us that we will suffer at the hands of enemies. We know that we are to respond as those blessed by you for these things. Yet, our God, there are times when our faith and trust waver. Thankfully, we are given your Word to sustain us and help us. We know that your Son endured greater hardships than we could ever experience. We know that he placed his trust in you while he suffered for the sake of those who are suffering at the hands of the Evil One. Please help us, our God. Please free us from those who seek our ruin. Please sustain us during those times. Please give us more grace and help us trust you. We desire to set our hopes on you because we know you care for us. We know that you are for us; that we are the apple of your eye. Please grant us an abundance of your Spirit as we journey to the places where all your and our enemies will be justly judged for their actions. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
