Daily Prayer for February 11, 2026: Psalm 3

O Lord, how many are my foes!
    Many are rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul,
    “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah

3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
    my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 I cried aloud to the Lord,
    and he answered me from his holy hill.

5 I lay down and slept;
    I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people
    who have set themselves against me all around.

7 Arise, O Lord!
    Save me, O my God!
For you strike all my enemies on the cheek;
    you break the teeth of the wicked.

8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people!

Prayer: Our God, we gladly and humbly bow before your throne today because you, and you alone, know our frame and know that we are dust. We come to you because you are sovereign, the creator of all that is good and right, the almighty who can do all things and do them very well. You alone are God, and there is no other. We come to bewail and lament our miseries that sin has brought into a world that was declared good by you, but ruined by sin. We confess that we are often troubled by the effects of sin and the behaviors it brings from those who hate you, your Son, and your people. We confess that we are sometimes troubled in mind and heart about the actions of evil people, forgetting that you are the God who acts justly and wisely in the affairs of men. We know there are many enemies of your people in this world, but we also acknowledge that there are other enemies that plague us - the flesh and Satan, the hater of our souls. We pray for you to shield us from the efforts of the world, the flesh, and the devil. We know that we are often led into temptation because we do not watch and pray. We know that the flesh is weak. We know that the Evil One hates us because you have placed your Name on us. We know the world is passing away and will come to ruin. Yet, Father, we need your Spirit if we are to withstand the attacks of these great enemies. We are thankful that we can cry to you because you have promised to hear us and deliver us from the fear of men. You are the one who gives true peace in a world that is full of chaos and destruction. Please rescue us from ourselves! Please save us from this evil and adulterous world! Please save us from the Evil One! We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
