The Daily Prayer: Psalm 92:1-4

Prayer: Our Father, it is with great thanks and love that we bow before your presence today to adore you and praise your glorious name. You have given us this day, the queen of days, to feed our souls with your presence and Word. It is good, indeed, to give thanks to you in a world of misery and ruin. It is indeed good and refreshing to come to you to praise you in a world full of complaining and griping. We come to declare what you have revealed to us -- your steadfast love and faithfulness. Each day you show us your love that never started and will never end. Each day, your faithfulness is proven to us in giving us our daily bread, watching over us, guiding our steps, and delivering us from the hands of the Evil One. These things, and more, make us glad. Indeed, the knowledge of our Son brings joy to our hearts because without him, we would be a people to be pitied. Without Christ, our Savior, we would be lost in a sea of strife, misery, and agony, awaiting the final end of eternity away from your comfortable presence. But you gave us your beloved Son. You crushed him for our sake. You demonstrated your love to us by showing that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Indeed, the entire work of salvation is the work of your hands. Therefore, what else can we do, our God, but praise you together with your people on the day you have made for that purpose. Please help us to honor you today. Please speak to us and teach us. Please receive our offerings of thankfulness as a pleasing aroma in your sight. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
