The Daily Prayer: Psalm 78:1-4
The Morning Devotional: Psalm 78:1-4
Prayer: Our God in heaven, you alone order all things, bringing them to pass according to your infinite will and almighty power. You have ordered the events of the past to remind us of your might and glory; your faithfulness that extends through all ages for your redeemed and covenant people. You spoke, and they came to pass. You offer promises, and they will certainly come to pass. You are good and do good things in the lives of men. You have commanded us to teach our children your ways. You have told us to love you with all our hearts. You have told us to teach our families about you as you have revealed yourself in your Word. We confess that we sometimes fail in this area. We confess that we have not been faithful to point the next generation to you. You have given us many reasons to show forth your might and power to our children, yet we somehow miss them or fail to communicate them. Please forgive us, Father. Please help us to worship you as families each day. Please help us to think about the many ways you have been good to us and pass those things down to the next generation. Please help us to utter the things we have heard and know and not hide them from our children and grandchildren. Please help us to tell them of the glorious deeds of our God, we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
