The Morning Devotional: Psalm 66:1-7

Prayer: Our God in heaven, great and awesome is your name, for you have performed marvelous works in the lives and hearts of men. You are the Creator of all things, and all things bring you glory and honor. You made man in your image with the purpose of glorifying and honoring you. You call us to love you and worship you. Yet, because of sin, man falls short of your glory. Due to sin, man is separated from your comfortable presence. Yet, you are kind, promising that through the seed of the woman you would crush the head of the serpent and free your people from the land of bondage and misery and bring them to a place where they gladly and joyfully worship you. Forgive us, Father, for forgetting the depth of your work in redeeming us. Forgive us for failing to honor you as we should. Forgive us for our weak efforts to praise you. Please help us, our God, to love and adore you, ascribing the glory due your name. Please cause us to rejoice and be glad, for you have saved us through the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
