The Daily Prayer: Psalm 47

The Morning Devotional: Psalm 47

Prayer: Our God, we bow before you to simply praise you and honor you. We know that we often come to ask you for many things. We know that you have told us to do that, casting our cares on you because you care for us. Yet, Father, there is something to be said about a people who simply offer thanks to you for who you are and what you have done. We know that there is not enough time in our day to give you the praise you alone deserve. You have subdued us to yourself. You have conquered all our enemies. You will put all things under the feet of the true Lord and Sovereign, the Lord Jesus. You have performed great wonders in this world. You have protected us when times were hard. You have comforted us when we could find no relief. You have helped us by giving us your Word. You rule us, working all things for the good of your glory and that of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. WE thank you for providing us with one day in seven to praise and honor you. We thank you for the gathering of your church and people. WE thank you, Father, for being our God, shepherding us faithfully even to the end of our days. In all of this, we simply marvel at your beauty and adore the works of your hands. We do that through Christ our Lord. Amen.
