The Morning Devotional: Psalm 46

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we give you thanks for the encouragement that comes from your Word and the ways in which the truth of who you are brings us hope. We give you praise for being our refuge and strength, always present with us when we face times of hardship and difficulty. You know our frame. You know we are dust. You know that numerous trials and hardships face us, and through them, you give us hope and rest and a place to flee when the hardships of this sin-wrecked world press us on every side. You are our refuge. You are the place where we can run and hide and find relief. You are our God, and your presence makes us glad, bringing joy to our hearts. You are the only God and our God, and because these things are true, we do not need to fear. Yet, Father, we confess that we often do. We acknowledge our weakness and times of worry. We confess that we often forget the words of this Psalm and lose hope. Please remind us and help us. Please strengthen and be with us. Please grant us more of the Eternal Spirit so we can always trust you. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
