The Daily Prayer: Psalm 37
This prayer is aligned with The Morning Devotional from Psalm 37
Prayer: Father, we confess that we are prone to worry because of what others may do to us. Indeed, we often fret because of things sinners are doing to us. We know that it is wrong. We know that your Son teaches us not to worry, but, instead, seek first your kingdom and righteousness. We confess how hard it is to do, though your Word teaches us how to avoid it. We know that you will not allow the wicked to prosper, but, instead, you will bring them to ruin. We know we are to trust you and do good, not take matters into our own hands. We know that we are to be faithful to you, using all the means you give us. We know that we are to delight in you and wait patiently for you to act. Although we know these things, we know that we fall short of doing them. We are sinners and need your help to avoid sinning against you. Therefore, Father, please give us what you command. Please give us the desire and will to trust you in all circumstances of our lives. Please help us to delight in you and your kingdom. Please give us more grace, our God. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
