The Morning Devotional: Psalm 100

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we give you thanks for delivering us from the misery of sin, freeing us to worship you as you have commanded. We thank you for being our Shepherd, who guides us each day and leads us safely to our eternal rest. We thank you for your presence and the sure confidence we gain from your Word. We thank you for loving us with an eternal love which never started and will never end. You are faithful, although we are often faithless. We confess to you that we do not always come before you with gladness in our hearts or praise on our lips. Too often, our God, we are cold and distant, though we have no reason to be that way. You have given us good and glorious reasons to praise you. Please forgive us and help us each time we gather with the rest of the sheep of your pasture to honor and bless your name as we should. Please turn our hearts and warm them with great love and affection for you and your Son; we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
