Daily Prayer for the Lord's Day, February 8, 2026: Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!(Psalm 34:1-3, ESV)
Prayer: Our God, we come to this new Lord's Day as wandering and weary pilgrims who are in desperate need of your help and grace. We know that this day is a picture of our eternal rest when we will be free from the world, the flesh, and the devil. We bemoan our constant battle with sin. It invades our minds and pollutes our hearts. It causes us to stray from your commands, and we are ashamed of how easy it is for us to leave the God we love and seek after idols. We give you thanks, our Father, because you are good and we can trust you. We praise you for your wisdom that gives us one day in seven to come away from those good and worldly concerns that consume much of our time. We acknowledge your majesty and seek your face today, asking you to bless us as you speak through your Word. We come today, our God, to exalt you and to get our minds off ourselves and firmly on the God who is Triune. We gather today because you are good to us, blessing us with all things needful in this life. We magnify your Name, because there is no other name given to men whereby we can have peace with you. We boast in you, because you have saved us, not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ, your Son, is. Please grant us the joy of your salvation. Lift the crushed in spirit. Rescue those in peril, watch over our hearts and souls, and cause us to see your majesty. We pray these things through Christ our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
