Daily Prayer for June 26, 2025: Psalm 3

O Lord, how many are my foes!
    Many are rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul,
    “There is no salvation for him in God.”

3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
    my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 I cried aloud to the Lord,
    and he answered me from his holy hill.

5 I lay down and slept;
    I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people
    who have set themselves against me all around.

7 Arise, O Lord!
    Save me, O my God!
For you strike all my enemies on the cheek;
    you break the teeth of the wicked.

8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
    your blessing be on your people!
(Psalm 3:1-8, ESV)

Prayer: Our Father, we acknowledge you as the one true God, and there is no other. We praise you because nothing else in this world, not money, wealth, relationships, people, friends, or family, can truly be the kind of help we need in this sin-wrecked world. We are surrounded by many who seek our ruin. They do so, O God, with their lips and actions. We witness it in our government and schools. We see it in our jobs and commerce. We note that we are out of step with the world and, therefore, are often despised and rejected by them. Sadly, our Father, we also witness it from those who claim to be followers of the Lord Jesus. Professing to be wise, they are fools. They are always learning but never come to a knowledge of the truth. Yet, we are comforted in knowing that you are our shield and defender. You give us rest in a world of chaos. You guide our steps and bless us with your help. The nations may rage, and others may scorn us for our devotion to you, but we are determined to hold on, walking according to your Word. Please help us, Lord, in those times when we grow weary. Please make us steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in your work and Word. Forgive us for our weaknesses, for there are many. Thank you for giving us the Lion of Judah, who defends and sustains us. These things we pray through His Name. Amen.
