Busy or Poor Priorities?

NOTE: This brief post is introductory. I will write a longer article on priorities and the life of the Christian.

PRIORITY: Attending Corporate Prayer Meetings

A staple of the Christian church for many decades was the corporate prayer meeting. Sadly, due to the distractions of the Evil One, many churches have either dispensed with them or are woefully attended.

I know we live in a busy society. I hear it all the time. I'm busy, and you're busy. It's not a new circumstance. Everyone is busy.

The problem isn't busyness. It's about priorities. If you don't think corporate prayer is important for your soul and the life of the church, you are not likely to attend. Yes, legitimate providential reasons exist, but they are not as frequent as many assert. Sickness, attendance at work, the car broke down, etc. -- Those are legitimate examples. However, you are not exempt from attending the corporate prayer meeting because you are involved in secondary matters of the church. Those may be important, but they are not more important than the church gathering to pray with and for one another.
