CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
Minister: As we have heard God’s Word read, let us humble ourselves before him, confessing our sins, praying:
All: Almighty God, you created the world and all things visible and invisible in the space of six days. We praise and honor you today. You alone are good, and you alone are kind. Though you have displayed your mighty power and infinite goodness in our lives, we are often people with weak faith. Too often, we fear the events of our world instead of trusting in the One who holds them all in his hand. Forgive us, Father. Please help us to love and trust you more. We pray these things in the name of the Lord of glory, Jesus Christ. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Isaiah 57:15
Minister: For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
All: Amen.
CONFESSION OF FAITH The Westminster Larger Catechism Q7-8
Q. 7. What is God?
A. God is a Spirit, in and of himself infinite in being, glory, blessedness, and perfection; all-sufficient, eternal, unchangeable, incomprehensible, everywhere present, almighty, knowing all things, most wise, most holy, most just, most merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
Q. 8. Are there more Gods than one?
A. There is but one only, the living and true God.
PASTORAL PRAYER AND LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
