Adoration:

  • Give praise to God because he is holy and does all things well. (Psa. 22)

  • Give praise to God for providing us a Good Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ, who give us peace and leads us safely all our days, leading us to our heavenly rest. (Psa. 23)

  • Give praise to our Father for providing us a Savior who has clean hands and a pure heart, accomplishing everything necessary so we can dwell with God forever. (Psa. 24)

Thanksgiving:

  • Give thanks to God because he is trustworthy, and all his promises sealed by his Word. (Psa. 25)

  • God thanks to God for not treating us as our sins deserve. (Psa. 25)

Petition:

Worship

  • Pray for a renewed zeal and delight in praising God, singing, and seeking his majesty (1 Tim. 1:17)

  • Pray for a hunger and thirst for righteousness as God’s people gather on the Lord’s Day.

  • Pray for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit as we seek to worship the triune God in Spirit and truth.

Preaching

  • Preparation for the pastor each week. This week: AM: Phil. 4:4-7 | PM: Gen. 6:1-8

  • Pray for fruit to come from the preaching of the Word of God.

  • Pray that the preached Word will be a powerful demonstration of the Spirit of God. (1 Cor. 2:1-5)

Session

  • Pray for wisdom in dealing with various shepherding issues.

  • Pray that the Elders will be godly examples before the congregation. (1 Pet. 5:1-5)

  • Pray for the Elders’ families.

  • Pray for protection from the Evil One.

Diaconate

  • Pray for wisdom as they discuss and decide various matters related to the building and the congregation.

  • Pray for protection from the Evil One.

Education:

  • Pray for the Lord to change hearts, moving them to attend the weekly prayer meeting.

Growth (spiritual and numerical).

  • Please pray for new families/individuals to join us this year.

  • Pray for the efforts to reach the community around this church.

  • Please pray that we would be a congregation committed to the glory of God (WSC Q1; 1 Cor. 10:31) and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Pet. 3:18) and love one another (1 John 4:7-10).

  • Pray for true revival to come to Evansville, especially our neighbors who live around our church. Pray for reformation to come to the churches in this city and county.

  • Pray for ten new families to visit and join Providence in 2025.

  • The Ladies Bible Study (currently studying The Pentateuch).

Families

  • Pray for godly families.

  • Pray for the fathers of the church to teach their children the doctrines of our faith diligently.

  • Pray for our covenant children.

  • Pray for the conversion of those covenant children who haven’t made a profession of faith.

  • Pray for the conversion of our unsaved family members.

  • Family of the week: Tom and Marlo Wagoner (Jason, Luke, Hope)

Vanguard Presbyterian Church

  • Pray for faithfulness to the Great Commission.

  • Pray for the numerous church plants around the country.

  • Church of the week: Geneva Reformed Church (Richmond, OH; Rev. Sterling Brown, pastor)

  • Pray for the upcoming presbytery meeting (Feb. 20-21).

World

  • The persecuted church and our brothers and sisters abroad.

  • Country of the week: Philippines

  • Missionaries: Rachel Rabe (Japan); Chris and Savannah Kitchen; Matt Lamos (Belgium)

Nation

  • Our nation (1 Tim. 2:1-2): The POTUS and his cabinet; The V-P; Congress.

  • The church in the USA: revival; repentance.

  • Pray that the Lord would eradicate the plague of abortion from our land.

  • Pray for the President. Pray for his new cabinet and staff.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the Pastor’s Mom and Dad, as his mother is now in a rehab center.

  • Pray for Laura Riley as she awaits news regarding her college application.

  • Angie Moad requests prayer regarding her blood pressure (postpartum hypertension). Pray that it will be resolved with natural supplements and that she won’t have to use medication.

  • Pray for Kay Keller, who will be traveling next week. Pray for her son, Eric, who is fostering three children.

  • Pray for the Men’s breakfast this week. Pray for a good time of godly, Christian fellowship.

  • Please continue to pray for the daughter of Jennifer Alldredge (Stephanie), who continues to have medical issues and is seeking a neurologist.

  • Pray for Jason Riley and his hearing issues. Pray for complete healing if it would please the Lord. Pray for relief.
