Prayer: Father, we so often feel like the people of old as we wander through the wilderness of this life and world. We struggle to make sense of much that is going on around us. We know that your Word tells us that you are sovereign, but there are times when the struggle seems too much to bear. Yet, you cared for those people in their times of struggle, and you care for us in ours. We are pilgrims in this world waiting for a better country. Please forgive us for placing our minds and hearts on the fleeting things of this life and for being distracted from that which you have called us to do.

Prayer: Father, we thank you for a new day that you have granted to us. We long to bring you glory as we go about our business that you have ordered. We thank you that you have ordered our steps and guide our way. We pray that we would glorify you with our behavior, and in all of it, we would exemplify the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that we would glorify you with our tongues, and in all that we say, we would speak kindness and respect and encouraging words to and about others. We pray that we would glorify you with our thoughts in that we would think your thoughts after you having our minds and hearts immersed in your Word. Forgive us, Lord, for the many ways in which we fall short in these areas. Help us to obey you and do all that you have commanded us. Grant to us a greater zeal to live as useful salt and light in a dark world. We pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you that you are a kind and gracious God who pities his children and has great compassion upon them. We praise you that you have provided numerous promises in your Word that bring comfort and hope to us. Many issues in this life require wisdom from on high, and we ask that you remember your promise to give your children wisdom and guidance when they ask for it. As we learn to trust you, we also know that you will guide our steps and lead us where you want us to go through it.

Prayer: Our great God in heaven, your name is holy and, therefore, we reverently bow before your throne today to praise you and commune with you. We thank you that we can enter into the Most Holy Place where your glory dwells at any time, day or night. Because of the work of Christ, we no longer need a human priest from the tribe of Levi. Instead, we have the Lion from the tribe of Judah who, after the order of Melchizadek, did all that was necessary to secure our access to you. We thank you that we have a sympathetic High Priest who understands our sufferings and trials of this life. We are grateful that we may come boldly to you to set all of our needs before you.

Prayer: Our most gracious and kind Father in heaven, we come to this day in our nation when we remember the many things for which we can be thankful. In a nation that has forgotten your benevolence, your people have not. We remember the numerous ways in which you have guided our steps and protected our lives over the course of the last year. You have never failed to keep all of your promises to your children. You have been faithful to us though we are often faithless. You have given us our daily bread, providing for our physical needs. We are grateful that we have homes to live in and many material blessings that make this life more enjoyable.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we give you heartfelt praise and thanksgiving for all the good things you provide us with in this life. Though we know that eye has not seen or ear heard of the things you have prepared for those who love you, we bless your name today because you have been kind to give us what we need in this life and much more. You have provided us with clothing, shelter, modern conveniences. You have given us relationships that are dear to us. You have provided us your church where we can fellowship with your people and worship you. More than any of these good things, you have given us your Son. By so doing, you have demonstrated your eternal love that never wavers of changes.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we thank you for every good and perfect gift that you bring into our lives. We confess that we do not always understand your providence as these gifts sometimes come in the form of dark and difficult times. We confess that we are prone to griping and complaining about our circumstances and forget that we should be content if we have food and clothing. We know your word exhorts us to flee murmuring and complaining because it is a direct attack on your sovereign right to rule and reign over us.

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we praise your name today because you have done great and mighty works in the lives of your redeemed people. You are a faithful and unchanging God, doing all that you promise. You have covenanted with your Son and, through him, with the people, he came to save to guarantee their safety through their pilgrimage in a world that is passing away. We thank you for the promise of the New Heavens and New Earth. We look forward with great hope and expectation of that great day when we gather with the congregation of your people to express our praise and adoration without the burden of sin. We ask that you would hasten the day in which the Lord Jesus returns. We pray that we would labor well until then and that you would bring many into the glorious kingdom that is ruled by the King of kings and Lord of lords. We pray this in his name. Amen.

We grieve at the number of people who would rather starve instead of coming to the table filled with your bounty. We are saddened to see so many people in this world living as though there is no death, and there is no eternity. We long to see your churches full of people who are called by your name, singing your praises. We plead with you today to save our friends and family that do not know you. We know that you are a God who loves to forgive sin.

Prayer: Our great God in heaven, you who are the only true God, we bless your name today because you care deeply for your people. You have declared that the church is the apple of your eye and a treasured possession. We know that we are such only because of your great grace displayed in the person and work of the Savior. As our holy God, we are saddened at the reality of indwelling sin. These things that dog our days and cause us to fall short of the glory you deserve are those things that we long to be rid of forever. Thus, we look forward to the return of the King, The Lord Jesus.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we gladly bow before you this morning to pray and plead with you for all we need. We acknowledge that we are dependent creatures and need your continual supply of grace each day to live to your glory and honor. We are thankful for the privilege of prayer, but we confess that we do not pray as we ought, and we do not pray as often as we should. Instead, we become distracted by mundane things and find that we waste time instead of redeeming the time for the sake of your kingdom. Forgive us for not praying, and forgive us for not gathering with your people to pray. We are ashamed of our prayerless prayers and low zeal to plead with the God of heaven.

We thank you for adopting us as sons and daughters due to the work of our elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful that you have given us another Lord's Day that reminds us of that which awaits those who love you. We desire to praise your name as we gather with other brothers and sisters.
