The Morning Devotional: Psalm 96

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we long to sing sweet praises to you because of who you are and what you have done for us, who are poor, helpless sinners. You have rescued us from misery and the bonds of sin, freeing us to sing and praise you. You have told us to declare your goodness and greatness to all who will listen. You have commanded us to ascribe to you all those things you have revealed in your Word. You alone are worthy, and you alone are great, the only living and true God. Forgive us, Father, for not obediently and joyfully telling others about you. Forgive us for failing to show to a watching world your majesty and power. Forgive us for hoarding the good news of Christ, refusing to tell others. We thank you for your forgiveness and count on it. We thank you for your righteous judgment over all things and for pouring out that judgment on your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, for our sake. Help us, Lord, to honor and adore you today, telling many of your marvelous grace; we ask and pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
