The Daily Prayer: Psalm 61
The Morning Devotional: Psalm 61
Prayer: Our God, we rejoice that we can commune with you in prayer and set our burdens before you, especially during times of hardship and dark providences. We give you thanks that you hear us when we pray, despite the fact that we are sinners and creatures of dust. We know this privilege comes through the work of your beloved Son. Yet,m we are grateful to you for not treating us as we deserve, but, instead, leading us to the Rock that is higher than us. In you, we find great comfort and hope, for you are our refuge and strength. Because of your Son, we have the joy and comfort to worship you as that picture of our heavenly rest and permanent dwelling in your presence. We thank you for leading us from bondage to freedom. We thank you for your steadfast love and faithfulness that watches over us every moment of every day. Please help us, therefore, to trust you in all things. When we are prone to fret due to the efforts of evil people, grant us the strength to walk with you and not worry what man might do to us. Help us remember your kindness throughout all our years. Please remind us of our union with you. Please console us with the knowledge that we are the apple of your eye. We pray these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
