The Daily Prayer: Psalm 36

Prayer: Our God in heaven, you are the one who redeems us from all our misery. In Christ, you have secured the only path to peace with you. Though we are sinners, we are now righteous in your sight only because of the righteousness of your Son. In him, you demonstrated your steadfast love that extends beyond measure. Because of Christ, your love will never end towards those who know you. Yet, Father, we confess that we were once lost in our sin, dead and by nature, objects of your wrath. We once lived with no fear of you, in arrogance and deceit. We once plotted and schemed to do what is evil. Yet, you saved us. You applied that love that never started to us. Indeed, you give us what we certainly do not deserve. Therefore, Father, help us to love you and serve you. Please guide and protect us from evil people. Please watch over us as we take refuge in you. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
