The Morning Devotional: Psalm 111

Prayer: Our majestic God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we bow before you today to praise and honor you for your wonderful works displayed for all to see. It is good and right for us to thank you because you have done great things for us. As you did for the people of old, you feed and clothe us. You watch over us day and night, guiding our every step and directing our every decision. You provide for us our daily needs according to your riches in glory. You never leave us alone, but lead us as you did the church of old. You guide us by your Word and help us with your ordinances. You redeemed us and placed us on a solid Rock, which is the Lord. You are holy, and in you there is no shadow of turning. You are gracious, not treating us as we deserve. Yet, Father, we confess that we are not always a grateful people. Too often we murmur and complain about our circumstances. Too often we forget to thank you for your many blessings. Please forgive us and help us to strive to be grateful to you. Please give us thankful and content hearts; we ask and pray through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
