The Morning Devotional: Psalm 110

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we give you thanks for your sovereign power and infinite wisdom in appointing the Lord Jesus Christ as our King. Because of his willingness to suffer and die for us, you exalted him and gave him the Name that is above all names. You gave him all authority and power, and you commissioned him to sit at your right hand until all his enemies are subdued before you. Because of the work of our Savior, we have been subdued by him. He conquered our restless minds and stubborn wills. He now rules over us as a great and gracious King who defends us from all his and our enemies. You also appointed him as our priest who gave his life for us as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Without the Savior, the Great High Priest, we would be a people to be pitied. Yet, he accomplished all that was necessary, and we now have access to you in our time of need. We are needy, Father. You know we are, and you gave us your Son to demonstrate your love for us. We are poor creatures of dust. AS such, you gave us this King and Priest to help us in our journey to our heavenly rest. Please grant us more trust in our King. Please help us to appeal to you through our High Priest. Be kind to us, we ask and pray through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
