Job Description:

The candidate will serve as a pastoral intern by coming under care of Illiana Presbytery as a candidate for the gospel ministry, with the goal of licensure and ordination. The candidate will also be tasked with the Vincennes Mission work under the direction of the Session of Providence Presbyterian Church

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a seminary program or successful completion of an M. Div degree (or equivalent).

  • A desire and sense of call to labor in the gospel ministry as a church planter.

  • A desire to labor in a small-town setting.

  • A willingness to relocate to the area.

  • A commitment to laboring in the work in Vincennes, IN, for three (3) years under the direction of the Session of Providence Presbyterian Church.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete seminary training (if applicable).

  • Report directly to the Session of Providence PCA, Evansville. The pastor will supervise all aspects of the internship.

  • Lead prayer meetings at the direction of the pastor.

  • Teach Sunday school (children and adults) at the direction of the pastor.

  • Exhort at Providence PCA, Evansville, in the absence of the pastor (approximately seven times per year).

  • Develop and implement a plan to revitalize the mission work in Vincennes, IN. Including:

    • Leading a weekly Bible study.

    • Exhorting once a month under the supervision of the pastor.

    • Visitation and community involvement.

    • Outreach endeavors to help the core group grow.

  • Complete all requirements leading to licensure and ordination, as required by the Book of Church Order of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Commitment from Providence Presbyterian Church:

  • Assist financially with tuition to complete seminary training, if applicable.

  • Yearly salary: $55,000 (total package).

  • Vacation: two weeks paid each year.

  • Moving expenses, as needed.

  • Weekly interaction with the pastor for the purpose of mentoring and training, leading to licensure and ordination.

  • Weekly interaction with a designated church planter in the Presbytery to guide and assist the intern with his work in Vincennes, IN.
