Call to Worship

Psalm 145;1-3
Minister: I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.
All: Amen.

God is Our Refuge and Strength #46C

Scripture Lesson                                                    Deuteronomy 5:1-21
Hearing God’s moral law reminds us that we fall short of his glory and need a Savior

Corporate Confession of Sin

Minister: As we gather before our holy God, let us now humble ourselves, praying together:
All: Our God in heaven, we have heard your perfect law read this morning, and we are reminded how far short we fall from your commands. We know that we sin daily in thought, word, and deed. We know that we do not love you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Though you have redeemed us to walk in your obedience, we confess that we wander and stray. Forgive us, Father, and help us to walk in your ways. We pray in the name of the Savior. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
1 John 1:9

Minister: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
All: Amen.

Confession of Faith         Westminster Larger Catechism Q12-14

Minister: Q. 12. What are the decrees of God?
All: God's decrees are the wise, free, and holy acts of the counsel of his will, whereby, from all eternity, he hath, for his own glory, unchangeably foreordained whatsoever comes to pass in time, especially concerning angels and men.

Minister: Q. 13. What hath God especially decreed concerning angels and men?
All: A. God, by an eternal and immutable decree, out of his mere love, for the praise of his glorious grace, to be manifested in due time, hath elected some angels to glory; and in Christ hath chosen some men to eternal life, and the means thereof: and also, according to his sovereign power, and the unsearchable counsel of his own will (whereby he extendeth or withholdeth favor as he pleaseth), hath passed by and foreordained the rest to dishonor and wrath, to be for their sin inflicted, to the praise of the glory of his justice.

Minister: Q. 14. How doth God execute his decrees?
All: A. God executeth his decrees in the works of creation and providence, according to his infallible foreknowledge, and the free and immutable counsel of his own will.

Pastoral Prayer and Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
