Session One: Praying through the Scriptures (Philippians 1:18b-26)
Why is Paul rejoicing? (1:18b)
What does it mean when Paul says, “for me to live is Christ”?
What does it mean when Paul says “to die is gain”? Who are the only people that can say that?
Pray for a greater commitment to follow Christ in life.
Pray for more opportunities to speak to others about Christ.
Pray for more joy in the Christian life.
Session Two: Praying for the Local Church
· Worship
· Preaching (preparation for the pastor, the sermon proper, fruit, etc.).
· Growth (spiritual and numerical)
· Outreach (Trail Life, American Heritage, etc.)
· The Session
· The finances of the church
· A church building
· The presbytery
