WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

§CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 92:1-4

Minister: It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

to sing praises to your name, O Most High;

All: to declare your steadfast love in the morning,

and your faithfulness by night,

Minister: to the music of the lute and the harp,

to the melody of the lyre.

All: For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;

at the works of your hands I sing for joy.

All: Amen.

SCRIPTURE LESSON Exodus 20:1-17

The moral law of God.

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN

Minister: As we have heard God’s Word read, let us humble ourselves before him, confessing our sins, praying:

All: Almighty God, grant to us a willing heart and mind to joyfully obey your law. We confess that we fail your just and righteous demands daily, but we are thankful for the ministry of your Son, our Savior and elder brother who perfectly kept your law. Though we are freed from the curse of your law, we are called to obey it as those who you love. Please grant us what you command we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

John 10:27-29

Minister: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

All: Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH Westminster Confession of Faith 16.1-2

Mr. Mason Scroggins, Ruling Elder

What do the Scriptures teach about good works?

1. Good works are only such as God hath commanded in his holy Word, and not such as, without the warrant thereof, are devised by men, out of blind zeal, or upon any pretense of good intention.

2. These good works, done in obedience to God's commandments, are the fruits and evidences of a true and lively faith: and by them believers manifest their thankfulness, strengthen their assurance, edify their brethren, adorn the profession of the gospel, stop the mouths of the adversaries, and glorify God, whose workmanship they are, created in Christ Jesus thereunto, that, having their fruit unto holiness, they may have the end, eternal life.

PASTORAL PRAYER AND LORD'S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
