You have established equity
you have executed justice
and righteousness in Jacob.

§PRAYER OF INVOCATION

§PSALTER O Praise the Lord, for He is Good #106B

SCRIPTURE LESSON Psalm 19
The Law of the LORD is perfect

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Heavenly Father, when we look into the heavens and see the splendor of Your handiwork and the glories of Your creative power, we moved as was David to proclaim Your glory and to declare the wonderful works of Your mighty hand. But when we look to the cross of Calvary and see Christ: - dead, buried and resurrected to life so that by faith in Him we might be reconciled back to God; be forgiven of our sins and become Your child and heir – we are moved to praise because You do not treat us as our sins deserve. Your glory and majesty should move us to love you more and obey you quickly. Too often, we hear Your Word and forget what we hear. Forgive us for dull hearts and slow obedience. Please grant us the forgiveness that can only come from you. These things we pray for in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. (Source: edited from https://prayer.knowing-jesus.com/Psalm/19)

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Psalm 103:8-12
Minister: The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
All: Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH Westminster Larger Catechism Q160

Q. 160. What is required of those that hear the word preached?
A. It is required of those that hear the word preached, that they attend upon it with diligence, preparation, and prayer; examine what they hear by the Scriptures; receive the truth with faith, love, meekness, and readiness of mind, as the Word of God; meditate, and confer of it; hide it in their hearts, and bring forth the fruit of it in their lives.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
