CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN

Minister: As we have heard God’s Word read, let us humble ourselves before him, confessing our sins, praying:

All: Our God in heaven, you have commanded that your people live contented lives before you. You have promised to provide all that we need. Yet, we are often dissatisfied with your provision and complain in Word and thought before you. We know that your Word condemns this attitude of the heart. Forgive us for our lack of trust in you, and forgive us for our murmuring ways. Thank you for forgiving us through Christ our Lord. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Numbers 14:18-20

Minister: ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”
Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, according to your word.”

Minister: Congregation, what is it that you believe?

All: I believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary;

suffered under Pontius Pilate;

was crucified, dead, and buried;

he descended into hell;

the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,

and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit;

the holy catholic church;

the communion of saints;

the forgiveness of sins;

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
