§PRAYER OF INVOCATION

§PSALTER God, My King, Thy Might Confessing #145D

SCRIPTURE LESSON 2 Samuel 7:1-17
The Davidic covenant that looks forward to the Kingship of the Lord Jesus Christ

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN

Minister: As we gather before our holy God, let us now humble ourselves, praying together:
All: Our God in heaven, we acknowledge your holiness and confess our sinfulness. Though you have promised your people great things, and have give us your Son, the King of kings, to rule and reign over us, we often grow restless and anxious, forgetting your love for us. Forgive us, Father. Help us to trust you more as citizens of your glorious Kingdom. We pray this in the name of Christ. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Exodus 34:6-7
Minister: “The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
All: Amen.
