Call to Worship
Isaiah 60:1-5 (Responsively)
Minister: Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
All: For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
Minister: but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
All: And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Minister: Lift up your eyes all around, and see;
they all gather together, they come to you;
All: your sons shall come from afar,
and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.
Minister: Then you shall see and be radiant;
your heart shall thrill and exult,
All: because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
the wealth of the nations shall come to you.
All: Amen.

Corporate Confession of Sin
Minister: As we gather before our holy God, let us now humble ourselves, praying together:
All: Grant, Almighty God, that as we are in this life subject to so many miseries and in the meantime grow insensible to our own sins – O grant that we learn to search ourselves and consider our sins, that we may be really humbled before Thee; and ascribe to ourselves the blame of all our evils, that we may be thus led to a genuine feeling of repentance; and so strive to be reconciled to Thee in Christ, that we may wholly depend on Thy paternal love, and thus ever aspire to the fullness of eternal felicity, through Thy goodness and that immeasurable kindness Thou testifiest is ready and offered to all those, who with a sincere heart worship Thee, call upon Thee, and flee to Thee, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Ps. 103:12; Is. 44:22; 1 John 1:1, 2
Minister: [A]s far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. [He] has blotted out our transgressions like a cloud and our sins like mist; if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world
All: Amen.
CONFESSION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed
Mr. Mason Scroggins, Ruling Elder
Elder: Congregation, what is it that you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary;
suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, dead, and buried;
he descended into hell;
the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen
