§CALL TO WORSHIP
Psalm 96:1-9
Minister:
Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!
All:
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
Minister:
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
All:
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods.
Minister:
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
All:
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Minister:
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
All:
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering, and come into his courts!
Minister:
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth!
All: Amen!

SCRIPTURE LESSON Matthew 24:36-25:13 Mr. David Matzen, Ruling Elder
As the “Olivette discourse” continues, Jesus describes the events of that day, the day of His second coming, and urges readiness, illustrated through the Parable of the Ten Virgins.
CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Grant to us, our most kind and compassionate Father, the will and strength to always live according to Your most holy and infallible Word. Grant, we beseech Thee that we would heed the words of Your Son to always live with watchful eyes for His promised return. We confess to You, O Lord, that we do not always live this way. Far too often, we busy our days with things that will not last and will not prosper. Too often, our God, we labor for things that will perish. Please grant to us ears to hear and eyes to see the things Your Son and our Lord have plainly said, and help us to be ever watchful for we know not the day or hour of His return. Forgive us for our short-sightedness, and help us labor for Your Kingdom's glory today. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Matthew 11:28-30
Minister: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
All: Amen.
