SCRIPTURE LESSON Matthew 21:1-22 Mr. Chris Turner, Ruling Elder
Jesus’ “Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem, fulfilling that which was anticipated by Psalm 118:19-26; followed by both His cleansing of the temple, and His cursing of a fig tree, an act of prophetic significance.

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN

All: O Lord, we do not deserve a glimpse of heaven, and we are unable with our works to redeem ourselves from sin, death, the devil, and hell. Nevertheless, you have given us your Son Jesus Christ, who is far more precious and dear than heaven, and much stronger than sin, death, the devil, and hell. For this we rejoice, praise, and thank you, O God. Without cost and out of pure grace you have given us this boundless blessing in your dear Son. Through him you take sin, death, and hell from us, and do grant us all that belongs to him. Amen

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Isaiah 53:4-6

Minister:
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
All: Amen.
