Prayer Meeting – April 13, 2022
Praying for the Local Church
· Worship
· Preaching:
o Preparation for the pastor each week.
o Pray for fruit to come from the preaching of the Word of God.
· Pray for the Session of Providence. Pray for the elders as they study matters related to the PCA and homosexuality and how it affects Providence PCA.
· Pray for the Session meeting this Friday (Apr. 15)
· Pray for the Diaconate.
· Education:
o Pray for our Sunday school program.
· Growth (spiritual and numerical).
o Please pray for ten new families/individuals to join us this year.
o Please pray that we would be a congregation committed to the glory of God (WSC Q1; 1 Cor. 10:31); that we would grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Pet. 3:18) and love one another (1 John 4:7-10).
· Outreach:
o Trail Life
o American Heritage Girls
· The finances of the church.
· A church building
o Pray for the building search committee.
· Illiana presbytery:
o Westminster (Vincennes): They are still seeking a pastor. Pray for David Grayson (Ruling Elder at Westminster) who is suffering from cancer. Pray for Keith Fisher (Ruling Elder at Westminster) who is carrying a heavy load for the church.
· The Presbyterian Church in America.
· Our families:
o Pray for those who are diligently laboring to teach their children the WSC.
o Pray for godly families.
o Pray for our covenant children.
o Pray for the conversion of our unsaved family members.
Praying for the Needs of the Saints and the World
WORLD
· The persecuted church and our brothers and sisters abroad. Next week: Malaysia
· Pray for the missionaries in and around the Ukraine area. Pray for Ukraine and Russia.
NATION
· Our nation (1 Tim 2:1-2): The POTUS and his cabinet; The V-P; Congress.
· The church in the USA: revival; repentance.
PROVIDENCE CHURCH (PCA)
· Pray for Newburgh Christian Academy as they search for a principal.
· David Matzen requests prayer for his friend, David, whose cancer has returned and has started treatment. Also, pray for healing and strength for his brother-in-law, Gerry, who is still in rehab recovering from open heart surgery last October.
· Pray for Rachael and Laura Riley as they travel home on Friday.
· Pray for minister in our presbytery who has spent a great deal of the day working with a man who is suicidal. Pray for the individual as well. UPDATE: Things are going much better for the individual.
Pray for a friend of Laura Riley who’s brother has a concussion
