As the Sermon on the Mount continues, Jesus teaches us not to seek treasures on earth, not to be anxious about life, but to trust God and to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Our God in heaven, you alone are infinitely holy and wise, the one true God who orders and governs all your creatures and all their actions. Your Word tells us that you hold all things in your hand, that nothing is outside your sovereign control. Though we know these things, there are times when we worry and grow anxious about the events of our lives. In those times, we sin against you because we fail to trust you and rest in your loving care for us. Forgive us, Father. Please help us to trust you more by meditating on your works as given to us in your Word. These things we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
