Psalm 46:1-11 (Responsively)
Minister: God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
All: Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
Minister: though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
All: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
Minister: God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
All: The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
Minister: The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
All: Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
Minister: He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
All: “Be still, and know that I am God.

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Our God in heaven, we thank you and praise you for gathering us together as your people to worship you. You are our God, and we are your people. Though the world may rage, we remain calm due to your steadfast love. Though you have redeemed us, we often stray from your Word. Too often, we seek understanding from the world. Too often, we display our folly through selfish ambition, jealousy, and boasting. Forgive us and help us to pursue the wisdom that is from above we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Isaiah 55:6-7
Minister: Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
