WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

§GREETING, SALUTATION, AND VOTUM

Our help is in the name of the Lord, maker of heaven and Earth. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

§CALL TO WORSHIP
Psalm 135:1-3

Minister: Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant!

§PRAYER OF INVOCATION

§PSALTER Praise the LORD! His Praise Proclaim! #135

SCRIPTURE LESSON Genesis 15:1-6
Mr. David Matzen (Ruling Elder Candidate)
Elder Candidate: The Word of the Lord!
All: Praise be to God!

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Grant almighty God that we your people would bow humbly before your majesty today, trusting you and believing all that you have told us. We thank you for the gift of faith given to us by your Holy Spirit. We confess that we are often filled with doubt and stray from your Word. Though you have told us to trust you, and though you have proven your faithfulness to us through many acts of kindness, we still waver. We do believe! Please help our unbelief and forgive us through Christ our Lord. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Hebrews 9:13-14
Minister: For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
All: Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH Westminster Shorter Catechism Q33-35

Q. 33. What is justification?
A. Justification is an act of God's free grace, wherein he pardoneth all our sins, and accepteth us as righteous in his sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone.

Q. 34. What is adoption?
A. Adoption is an act of God's free grace, whereby we are received into the number, and have a right to all the privileges of, the sons of God.

Q. 35. What is sanctification?
A. Sanctification is the work of God's free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness.
