~WORSHIP IN PRAISE~
§CALL TO WORSHIP
Isaiah 6:1-3 (Responsively)
Minister:
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:
All:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”
All: Amen!

~WORSHIP IN CONFESSION~
SCRIPTURE LESSON Matthew 1
Mr. Chris Turner, Ruling Elder
Chapter one is a prologue to the gospel of Matthew, providing a genealogy from Abraham through David to Joseph, his legal, earthly father. It also records the birth of the Savior
CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN
All: Our Father in heaven, we praise your name today because of your great love and kindness. You have demonstrated your love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ came and died for us. How thankful we are, our God, for the redeeming work of your only-begotten Son who came to save his people from their sins. Therefore, in him, we have an eternal inheritance sealed until the day of redemption. Yet, as your chosen people, we fall short of your glory. We do not perfectly seek your will in all things. Too often, we do what we want to do and fail to strive in obedience to your Word. We do not do what we should, and we do what we shouldn’t. Who will deliver us from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, Father, forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness we pray in the name of your Son, our Lord, Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Psalm 103:8-13
Minister:
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
All: Amen.
